Which case to use

UPPER CASE

Abbreviations, short labels, buttons. Whole paragraphs in caps read as shouting.

lower case

Tags, hashtags, e-mail addresses and anything that must be case-insensitive.

Sentence case

Normal prose, UI texts and — more and more often — headings and meta titles.

Title Case

Headlines in English: major words capitalized, short articles and prepositions not.

Capitalized Case

Every word capitalized, without exceptions. Names of products and menu items.

camelCase · PascalCase

Variables and functions in JavaScript and Java; class and component names.

snake_case · CONSTANT_CASE

Python, Ruby, databases and environment variables; constants.

kebab-case · URL slug

URLs, CSS classes and file names. The slug also turns Cyrillic into Latin.

dot.case · path/case

Config keys, translation keys, package and folder names.

aLtErNaTiNg · RaNdOm

Memes and sarcastic captions. Not for headlines.

Case and SEO

Search engines don't care about letter case in rankings, but people do: a title in ALL CAPS gets fewer clicks, and Google may rewrite it. URLs are a different story — /Page and /page are two different addresses for a server, so keep URLs lowercase with hyphens. That's exactly what the URL slug style does.

Questions

No. Everything is converted by JavaScript in your browser. The text is only remembered in your browser's local storage so it's still there after a reload — press Clear to remove it.

Capitalized Case makes every word start with a capital letter. Title Case follows the headline rules: articles, short prepositions and conjunctions (a, of, the, and) stay lowercase unless they are the first or last word.

Yes. The converter recognizes existing camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case and kebab-case boundaries, splits the text into words and joins them in any other style.

Yes, all text styles work with Cyrillic, Greek and accented Latin letters. For code styles you can turn transliteration on or off; the URL slug is always transliterated.
