Dynamic parameters

Click a parameter to insert it into the field you were editing. The ad platform replaces it with the real value on every click.

  • campaign ID
  • ad group ID
  • ad ID
  • keyword that triggered the ad
  • match type: e — exact, p — phrase, b — broad
  • network: g — Search, s — search partners, d — Display, ytv — YouTube, x — Performance Max
  • device: m — mobile, t — tablet, c — computer
  • site where the ad was shown (Display)
  • ID of the keyword or audience
  • ID of the user's location

What the builder fixes for you

Broken UTM links quietly ruin reports. These mistakes are caught automatically.

  • Only one ? in the link, parameters joined with &
  • Characters that break analytics (# & = ?) are removed from values, spaces become _
  • A duplicated http:// or https:// is removed
  • Old utm_ tags in the URL are replaced, other parameters and #anchors are kept
  • Lowercase and transliteration of Cyrillic — optional
  • Dynamic parameters in curly braces are never changed or encoded

UTM tags: quick answers

Labels added to a link — utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term. Analytics reads them and shows exactly which ad, email or post brought the visitor, and whether they converted.

Placeholders in curly braces, like the keyword or ad ID. Google Ads, Meta and Yandex Direct replace them with real values on every click, so one link tells you the exact campaign, ad and keyword.

In GA4: Reports → Acquisition → Traffic acquisition, with the Session source / medium and Session campaign dimensions. In Yandex Metrica: Reports → Sources → UTM tags.

No, as long as your pages have a canonical tag. But never put UTM tags on internal links: every click would start a new session and break your analytics.

Use cpc for paid search: GA4 then puts the traffic into the Paid Search channel. For newsletters use email, for organic posts on social networks use social.
